This is friggin’ amazing. I’ve not played FFXI in YEARS, but listening to City of the Humes brings me RIGHT BACK.

    • tweexgaminggeek says:

One of my main goals was to re-live the nostalgia that I felt for the game! The fact that you’re also feeling it means more to me than I can express!

  3. Yannic says:

    Well done Tweex :)
Especially glad Selbina getting some love, great song!

  4. Thanks for this. I still have thousands of screenshots from my time on Odin. It’s really great to be able to listen to this and browse through the images of old adventures and old friends.

You’ve done a wonderful thing for a lot of people by making and sharing this.

    Awesome work!

  7. Meshe says:

Wow! Best Remix I head of this game, great job! I gotta say interesting pick of songs, all being the originals ones of the game. Even after many years, Vana d’iel is still home ;)

Btw, don’t know if you heard it, but I recommend you this concert, best one I heard:

Hey man! Best remix I heard of this game! Great job! I got to say, interesting of picking only of the original base game. Even after many years Vana d’iel is still home!

Btw, I don’t know if you heard it yet, but this for me is the best concert I heard with the this game music:

    Hope you enjoy it too!

Awww…to have wings. I remember the first day I was able to ride an airship and hearing this music. Gives me that warm fuzzy feeling all over :3

    • tweexgaminggeek says:

After that horrible mission you had to go through to get the Airship pass, I know the feeling well :) !

  10. Blax says:

    You did it! :)

So awesome. <3 I heard Battling Despair at Dawn on OC ReMix and have had it on my playlist for quite awhile; had no idea you'd done so many more. :)

    • tweexgaminggeek says:

Believe it or not, “Battling Despair at Dawn” was done about a year before I started work on “The Land of Vana’diel”. Subconsciously, BDaD was a test to see if I could actually remix an FFXI song and actually do it justice. I only hope that I did :) !

  14. Crystan says:

I’m a massive fan of fan music in general, but this is spectacular! Every track oozes quality, and it’s clear from a listeners standpoint that a lot of enthusiasm went into this. I can scarcely put into words how impressed I am, and I know with skills like that you’ll go far. Incredible work, thank you for sharing it!

  15. James says:

You found my one weakness. Nostalgia. For some reason I always tear up at Vana’diel March #1. That one’s my favorite but they’re all so fantastic! Especially Decent Challenge :)

  16. Harlak says:

I had not heard Moghouse in years. I instantly teared right up thinking of all the adventures and all the friends I have left behind. I thank you deeply for this. Well done.

  17. frankie says:

  18. Tritant says:

Absolutely amazing. Keep em coming please. :D

  19. Marco says:

Long live the memories of FFXI!
I quit in 2008 but I miss it every day!

  20. Dan says:

This is really amazing, thanks for making this and sharing it with us. I hope you compose more. If you do, please consider including The Sanctuary of Zi’Tah in your next arrangement!

  21. TamTu says:

Oh wow. I need to blog about this. Fantastic arrangements T.T Goosebump inducing~ I moved from Odin to Leviathan a few months ago, otherwise I would’ve personally saluted you!

    Amazing job :)

  22. Karter says:

  24. Dibble says:

Oh, man, the Airship remix is a~mazing.

  25. Jeff says:

Beautiful. You improved the tracks while keeping the spirit of the originals. If I ever play ffxi again, I’ll be modding these songs in. :)

  26. Jess says:

Your Selbina remix is by FAR my favorite one… Man… Running away from Goblins and zoning then dying? /nostalgia

  27. Charun says:

I think what you have done with these remixes is nothing but a perfect job. FFXI has been a different experience for everyone and I think with each and every one of these songs there is a story we all have to go along with it. I’m glad all of these are from the original game but fingers crossed you’ll remix some of the Expansion pack music as well :)

  28. BorganXIShiva says:

Awesome music Tweek, I would totally buy an album with that artwork!

    • tweexgaminggeek says:

Fortunately, you don’t have to pay a thing to get this bad boy! However, if you want to donate, that’s something else ;) .

  29. Ryan says:

Awsome job on the remix’s just suprized you giveing away for free

  30. Eric says:

The sound is so refreshing and upbeat, it calls for the best remix ever! I wish i can mod every theme in the game with this album! :3

  31. Sobius says:

I rarely take the time to reply on public sites, but this is an incredible and noble project. The music of Final Fantasy has always been an integral experience for me in the game franchise, and XI was no different. I think it’s what separates it from many other MMO’s. You have done an outstanding job here. I am bookmarking this page, looking forward to seeing more! Well done!

  32. MI says:

So moved….deeply looking forward to see more works from you great guys…..

  33. Boswen says:

Only on the second song so far and I already really like it. Miss the days there. Can’t wait to join again after I finish my degree. Vana’diel has really changed. Lots of neat developments. I used to keep up with FFXIclopedia now and then, but I haven’t done so lately. Thanks so much for this resource, Tweex!!

  34. Allison says:

Superb! Thank you for taking the time to do this! Truly amazing! Is there somewhere other than itunes I can buy the album? Spotify perhaps? Great stuff!

  35. Scott says:

I came from the OC Remix link, and I’m staying for the whole thing. There’s a lot of love in these tracks — no doubt a love that speaks to the adventures you yourself had in Vanadiel. A retired but never forgotten samurai raises his glass to you for this. Thank you.

  36. Tim says:

This is fantastic! I sincerely hope you do not mind if I promote it a bit on a few of my Facebook pages, because people should really lend an ear to this. I hope you’ll be doing more, because I’d love to hear it!

  37. metaphist says:

I love you for this, so good :D

  38. Pitchfork78 says:

I was happy to stumble upon this over on
Brings back a lot of memories. First MMORPG I ever played. Have you considered covering the expansions soundtracks in the future?

  39. Kolossus says:

This literally brought a tear to my eye with how much emotion is caught up in this music. I had some of my best and proudest moments as a gamer with the people who were a part of TheSpiritsWithin LS on Alexander with me. Listening to these songs brings back a flood of feelings and memories that I will always hold near and dear to my heart.

Thank you, Tweex. More than words can express.

  40. Daniel says:

SQUEEEEE!!! Gustaberg is basically my favorite piece of music, from everything everywhere everywhen, and you have done it justice.
Thank you, good sir. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
